If you haven't heard yet, Super 8, written ad directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg is coming out this week. Being a huge Sci-Fi thriller fan I decided to get all over it. The movie is not out, and it's already stirring up a bit of controversy. Some people are criticizing it for its ads, which do not show images to determine if it’s a monster or what. The ads withhold the plot details as well. When commercials fail to provide sufficient information about the movie, my first instinct is, there is nothing to tell. The movie is not that good, and they withhold it to get you in the theaters.
Paramount Vice Chairman Rob Moore says the movie will be a word-of-mouth hit. Paramount Pictures and Twitter are partnering to present a sneak peek of the Sci-Fi adventure this Thursday June 9, one day prior to its release to the general public. The idea is to have everyone Tweeting about it and promoting the movie.
Do we have a whole new E.T. and The Goonies here? Despite my first instinct, as stated previously, if the trailer says "It has escaped." My question is, from where? Is this a military experiment, or are the military now transporting aliens by train? Then it says, "It has a plan." If it has a plan then it can't be a monster. It's not killing for the sake of killing. I'm intrigued either way. If you see the movie, drop by here and tell us all about it in my comments, well, at least the high lights.
Will it be hot or a flop? Tell me what you think.
Keep watching, and remember… Stay in your write mind.
