All work and no play?

We work hard not only to gratify our desire of accomplishments, but also to provide for our families. If you obtain all that you desire but have no one to share it with, what would the point be? If you disagree with me and feel that life alone is the best life that is fine. Please explain that to me because I don't understand it.

Share the best moments of your life with your loved ones. If all you do is work, and you never have a moment to share with your loved ones, or a memory to create, then it's just another reason to feel sad and lonely.
Don't continue to wait for the perfect time in your life when you will have all the money you need and the time to contribute to your family. That is a trap. You will never have the perfect time or enough money. The time is now before you lose it. The bills will always be there they will never go away.

Sacrifice a little every pay period to put away for your vacation time. If possible, pay it upfront with your tax returns. Don't let situations in life stop you from taking that time away with your family. This time away from stress will clear your mind, relax your body, and allow happiness in your life. When you have these things, it will clear your mind for fresh ideas to write about. In fact, I've used my vacation photos as inspiration for fresh new ideas to write about. People I met as characters in my stories.

Give yourself a break. Go have a love affair with your spouse. I know I am. We started a four-day getaway for the two of us. I will return Tuesday. The memories of my last vacation are sparking incredibly good emotions right now as I'm writing this. Take a vacation.

And remember… Always stay in your write mind.

  1. I think it's strange as well how people know this, but the excuses to not spend time with family are numerous. Some have to surrender to jobs that don't allow time or very little of it. I think people just have to find a way. Even if it is an evening alone or time out on the patio enjoying the country sunshine, every moment with my hubby is precious. Sometimes time together is working on projects around the farm. Our weekend will consist of family and friends, something we all are looking forward to. The fun part will be stealing a moment or two away from everyone to do more intimate things to each other! My point is a vacation can come in all different ways and until one can take a big vacation either alone with their significant other or with family, little mini mental getaways, etc., There is always a way to getaway! Time to go and make some memories! ~Ranae

  2. I agree. I love the time we spend together, whether its alone or with friends. These pictures are from our honeymoon that is one vacation we will cherish for the rest of our lives. However, there was our little mini vacation we took to Orlando for the weekend it was amazing just to get away and enjoy each other's company cut off from everything and everyone but us. And we are proof you can do it on very little $$$$$.

  3. We always need a break at some point, or it will be us that snaps under the strain. I can't afford to go away, but a walk in the country or a trip to the beach are great restoratives - and usually great inspiration too. :)

  4. Most days we dont watch tv after five. We have no kids but have always spent the evening interacting. Highly recommended. Use a dvr.

  5. I was a run run run person for a long time - all it did was come close to killing me ... LITERALLY. Even though I have mounting problems on some days I find it easier to handle if I take the time to - enjoy my boyfriend's company, cuddle with my rabbits, give my dad a call or have a texting war with my best friend. It doesn't do us any good to rush run rush run - we need to slow down and enjoy life. Kudos 2you and your wife for your continuing affair and hope that this newest vacation add's sparkling memories that rival even the world's largest diamond :D

  6. What a wonderful article! I agree that more time should be spent today instead of tomorrow with family. I have two kids and every Friday night is family time. There's no homework, chores, work, absolutely nothing, but movies and popcorn. My daughters love it, and when we can't do it (and it happens sometimes)the kids miss it, and that's coming from a 15 and 10 year old. :)

  8. I couldn't agree more! I have to admit, though, I didn't start living by this credo until I got a little older and a little wiser. Now, I say spend every moment with family and friends and don't sweat the big stuff. Life is too short!

Hope you enjoy your Sunday evening!!

  9. Sound advice! You never know what the future holds and how long we have on this earth. Being a truck driver, I spend 24/7 with my husband and find it's very important to be kind and patient with each other. We've been together 10 years and can't imagine my life without him. It's great you and your wife make the effort to make vacations part of your love affair. Good writing!
